Navigating Bosses in the Workplace
Employees, are subject to the will of…their bosses! Let’s see how to navigate within the work flow of your boss.
A boss is defined as one who has the oversight, control and authority over subordinates, their daily activities, and observes and directs the execution of their task, project, or activities.
Bosses—they get to tell you what to do!
Most employees try to please their bosses, show them respect, show them honesty and integrity, and seek to win their trust.
As a Christian employee, your faith should also inspire you to allow your bosses, to dictate your daily agenda. In addition, you also have a duty to respect any Christian business leader—who are bosses, that work in the marketplace, as well as a ministry leader.
Sadly, there's seems to be no “equal level” of respect towards them. When they tell you what to do, you must show them the same level of respect and make every attempt to please them, as you do your non-Christian boss.
God, is a God of order, and frowns on chaos. He has built divine authority into the workplace and our economic enterprises, in order to provide a valuable “structure” for everyday business and economic life. Your Christian faith, should value that order and authority; both in the workplace and in our economic enterprises. These values will improve the company, employee life, and also exemplify our God.
As a Christian employee, you must respect your bosses at work because you aren't ultimately working for them, but for a GREATER leader.
Offer excellence—and remember that the one who blesses you, is not the same as the one who signs your paycheck!
