Taking out, your “Head Trash”
I came across this unique word today, as the Lord ministered to me as I questioned myself as to why I felt defiant as I moved around the city today!! It was because of my Head Trash!! This usually happens at a time when I’m on a roll in the spirit! I’m creating, flowing and receiving RHEMA and everything is falling into place according to the word of God!
Then…BOOM! Here it comes. Without warning! Out of nowhere—or might I say after talking to a lot of disillusioned individuals who have strayed from biblical truth and are walking incongruous to the word of truth; under guise of seeking “truth.” Keep your amour on and up while conversating with those so used!! I realize they are just-planters of destruction—planting seeds of heresy, doubt, and seduction—all designed to cause death to your vision, joy, health, creativity, productivity, excellence!
Head trash does not discriminate! We all are subject to Head Trash!
Everyone from CEOs to other people of prominence with brilliant achievements, all suffer from Head Trash. It can be a negative belief you hold about yourself, your abilities or the world. These beliefs are nothing more than thoughts that we think over and over again, until they become “our” truth. These truths in turn define the thoughts we think, which in turn, drive our behavior, which produce the results we experience! Head trash are those nasty, taunting voices in your mind that create doubt, derail your goals, and weaken you.
You hear that voice in your head that says, I can't do it because...
I'm too old.
I don't have the time.
I can't afford it.
I've made too many mistakes.
I didn't go to college (or "the right" college).
I don't live in the right city.
I'm a woman.
I need to do something else-this isn’t working!
I’m a minority
I’m rejected
Head Trash shows up as voices in your head—voices that operate from the shadows.
Many of us are not even aware that these negative thoughts are in control. Studies show that humans operate on conditioned thinking, 95% of the time, and only consciously take charge of our own thoughts, behaviors and our own decisions—the other 5% of the time!
There are many layers to Head Trash, and the older you are the more of it you accumulate, unless you have developed the following clearing practices that removes stagnant, negative and chaotic thoughts:
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—
if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things.”
One of the ingredients of excellence is a good and pure attitude. If you’re experiencing cycles of negative and chaotic thoughts that concern you, then assuredly, look for the Head Trash that needs eliminating.
HEAD TRASH—negative beliefs (junk) that stands between you and your success!
Why do executives get stuck? Why do leaders sometimes find themselves pushing hard but not gaining traction? Frequently it's because they're working against themselves, defeating their best efforts with their own problematical thoughts and emotions.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.“ (Philippians 4:6 NIV)
As I became more experienced, as a business consultant; I noticed a common denominator to many volatile businesses. They experience a year or two of great success, then significant losses follow. Many of those leaders convinced themselves they were not good enough to experience continued success! They seemed to live on a roller coaster. It’s the owner's attitude!
”Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends!“ Philippians 4:1
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
"Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.“ Philippians 4:8-9 NIV
Therefore, my fellow Start Up Execs, and Kingdom Entrepreneurs, stand firm!
There is, a way to drive success in any endeavor— and it starts with an act of defiance.
Taking charge of your head trash is an act of defiance, in the best of ways. It’s consciously taking agency over your mind to challenge your conditioned thinking and expand your view of what’s possible. From this vantage point, you stand a far better shot at making thoughtful decisions — ones driven by your goals, not your head trash.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.“ Philippians 4:5-7 NIV
